Research Paper
My objective was to write a research paper on a key issue facing the state of public relations and advertising today. I chose a subject that looked at how a company’s failure to stand by its marginalized customers can affect its image and bottom line.
I collected qualitative and quantitative research, including conducting a survey among peers, that highlighted how consumers feel about brands that abandon or support marginalized audiences depending on the current state of politics. After organizing and synthesizing information, I crafted an essay using engaging imagery, factual reporting, and over two dozen reference sources.
This assignment was one of my first collegiate dives into the state of brand advertising, and I learned about how ads and public relations cohabitate in our culture. My undergraduate background was in journalism, and I utilized that history with storytelling to craft an engaging narrative about the state of the nation around the importance of supporting marginalized groups.
